DermaPen

DERMAPEN AT BLU CLINICS

A glowy and flawless skin is all we need and want. At BLU Clinics London we offer distinct skin treatments with remarkable outcomes. One of our most popular treatments that provides you with the ‘perfect’ skin is known as DermaPen microneedling.

DermaPen can be used as a stand-alone treatment, or in combination with some of our other aesthetic treatments in London. Use of medical grade skin care is recommended for best results.

There are a number of DermaPen devices available on the market, but few are able to deliver the results patients are looking for. At BLU Clinics London we understand the importance of using only the finest and most up to date products that have clinically proven results. In order to get the best results possible, it is vital to use medical grade microneedling devices which are only available for purchase to medical professions.

WHAT IS DERMAPEN?

DermaPen is a microneedling medical grade device suitable for all skin types that provides the best and most apparent outcomes without the use of chemicals. The skin gets firmer, shinier, healthier, and toned, with less fine lines, wrinkles or visible scars.

DermaPen works by creating micro-traumas to the skin surface which activate the physiological healing pathways of the skin to produce growth factors and promote natural production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acids.

What are the Benefits of Microneedling?

We puncture the skin many times with 12 disposable microneedles at high pressure and speed attached to the hand-held equipment. This combination boosts the skin’s natural ability to repair and renew, resulting in flawless skin with less imperfections.

  • Improve Skin Firmness
  • Skin Tightening
  • Skin Rejuvenation
  • Improve General Skin Health
  • Pigmentation Reduction
  • Smooth Fine Lines and Wrinkles
  • Slow Down Wrinkle Formation
  • Heal Acne Scars
  • Improve Appearance of Scars
  • Improve Cellulitis and Stretch Marks

The procedure for all of our DermaPen treatments is done the same. However, the outcomes may vary from person to person. This is why prior to your appointment, we recommend a face to face consultation to discuss your concerns and intended results.

“Brilliant first-time experience, non-painful, non-stressful and with almost immediate results. As someone who has always been sceptical and reticent to any sort of aesthetic procedure- I highly recommend Dr. Irina and her gentle touch: she’ll carefully listen to your needs, guide and follow you step-by-step, clarify and disperse any doubts and finally- take the desired result home. Overall 10/10.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Dermapen Experience? And is the Procedure Painful?

Our medical-grade microneedling devices are customizable according to the pain threshold, skin thickness, the area treated, and the kind of DermaPen treatment outcomes you want. This allows us to assure results that are tailored to your specific concerns. At BLU Clinics, we strive to make all of our procedures as pleasant as possible. We ease the pain by liberally applying numbing cream. Oftentimes, our patients experience little or no discomfort or pain.

IS DERMAPEN THERAPY SAFE?

There are no chemicals or substances used that may create a response among those with sensitive skin types. Instead, DermaPen is a mechanical therapy that promotes the skin’s natural healing process using natural proteins. This therapy is thought to be safe for all skin types. However, if you have active eczema, psoriasis, cystic acne, or are pregnant, the therapy will not be suitable for you.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS FROM DERMAPEN?

We use numbing cream before the treatment to minimise any pain or discomfort. Patients may experience redness and swelling immediately following treatment, but this subsides within 24 hours. A little pain, mild redness, dryness, and bruising are possible adverse effects of the therapy. Small residual scratches from the needles may be seen in some patients which can be camouflaged by applying makeup.

WHAT COMBINED TREATMENTS DO YOU OFFER?

At BLU Clinics London, our procedures are customised to each client.

We offer a range of combined treatments:

  • Dermapen and Dermaroller
  • Face Serum and Dermapen
  • PRP and Dermapen
  • Dermapen and LED light
Why do Some Patients Choose to Have Post Treatment LED Light Therapy?

At BLU Clinics our specialists highly recommend LED light treatment post procedure. LED light therapy is scientifically proven to reduce acne and post traumatic redness. It also has an antiseptic effect minimising the chance of infections, rejuvenating the skin and speeding up the recovery downtime.

Who are the Best Candidates for Dermapen Treatment?

DermaPen therapy is most ideal for patients who;

  • Prefer a natural approach to antiaging.
  • Have had dermal fillers, botox or other treatments.
  • Those looking to prevent formation of lines.
  • Slow down the aging process or reduce any already formed fine lines.
  • Those that suffer from acne or acne scars.
  • Have cellulite.
  • Stretch marks.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

Since every skin is different and DermaPen targets a variety of skin problems, the number of treatments may depend on the individual. Although improvements are often apparent almost immediately after the DermaPen procedure, we suggest a course of 3 to 6 DermaPen sessions three weeks apart to get the desired outcomes.
